History

In 2012, the Christchurch Homebrewers Facebook Group was founded out of a desire to connect like minded homebrewers and share the passion for making and sharing great homebrew. This group now boasts over 1800 members from some of the leading breweries in New Zealand as well new and experienced brewers alike.

Stemming from this group, the Christchurch Home Brewers Association (CHBA) was formed. The CHBA currently has around 70 paid members and a volunteer committee who look to provide support, competitions, education, events and connections across the beer scene in Christchurch.
